Long-term and Prospective Cooperation
On April 29, the Cooperation Agreement between the Russian Federal Bar Association (RFBA) and the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia was signed in Erevan
The agreement was signed by Yuri Pilipenko, President of the RFBA, and Simon Babayan, Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia. The ceremony was attended by Elena Avakyan, Vice-President of the RFBA, Aleksandr Shefer, International Relations Officer of the FRBA, Ara Zohrabyan, Director of the School of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia, Maxim Seleznev, Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia.
As noted in the Agreement, its purpose is to create the foundations for the development of permanent cooperation between the parties in the field of activities of lawyers as well as social and professional organizations of lawyers in accordance with the international law and the national legislation of the parties.
According to the document, the parties cooperate, in particular, in such areas as the exchange of experience on the creation and development of a system for the exchange of information of a legal nature, including expert, statistical and analytical materials as well as materials of judicial practice; exchange of information related to the organization and functioning of social and professional organizations of lawyers as well as the professional activities of lawyers; exchange of experience in protecting the professional rights of lawyers; development of mechanisms for cross-border interaction between lawyers as well as their social and professional organizations; in other areas of cooperation according to the national legislation of each of the parties.
The Cooperation Agreement was also signed between Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia and the Hauts-de-Seine Bar Association (France).
A day earlier, as reported, Yerevan hosted the international forum “Advocacy in the Context of Integration Processes: Challenges and Prospects”. The forum was attended by representatives of the lawyer communities of Armenia, France, Georgia, and Russia. Yury Pilipenko and Elena Avakyan spoke about the digital future of the Russian legal profession in the context of integration processes and the role of the digital transformation of the legal profession in e-justice.
Participants of the forum were honored to be hosted by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, at the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual and administrative headquarters of the worldwide Armenian Church.
